How To Reach the Taj Mahal by Road
From Delhi to Taj Mahal (Agra)
The fastest way to reach the Taj Mahal from Delhi is via the Yamuna Expressway through Greater Noida. The distance is about 230 km and takes around 3 to 3.5 hours by car. The expressway is smooth and scenic, with tolls along the way, so carrying a FASTag or some cash/card is recommended.
From Jaipur to Agra
To reach the Taj Mahal from Jaipur, take the route via Dausa, Bharatpur, and Fatehpur Sikri. The journey covers around 240 km and takes about 4.5 to 5 hours via NH21/NH11. You can also make an optional stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Reaching the Taj Mahal from within Agra
Set your destination to “Taj Mahal East Gate” or “West Gate” on Google Maps. Since vehicles aren’t allowed within 500 meters of the monument, you’ll park nearby and then either walk, take an e-rickshaw, or use a battery shuttle. These convenient options are easily available and help protect the monument’s environment.

The best time to visit the Taj Mahal is from October to March, when the weather is cool and pleasant. Visiting early in the morning, especially at sunrise, offers a peaceful experience and beautiful lighting. For fewer crowds, avoid weekends and holidays.
